Mission Statement

It is our mission to provide citizen input in planning bicycle improvement and in promoting safe bicycling within the Town of Vienna and onto the Greater Washington Area Bicycle Network. BAC promotes a healthier lifestyle and advocates a cleaner, environmentally-friendly alternative to transportation.

Objectives

1. Review ways to make the Town of Vienna more bicycle-friendly community through various recommendations to the Town Council.

2. Consider ways in which the Town of Vienna may increase bicycle network throughout the Town of Vienna and to identify and connect the network to Tyson's Metrorail Stations.

3. Issue periodic reports to the Transportation and Safety Commission (TSC) which will include updates on status and findings.

4. A long-term goal of the Committee is to be helping guide for the Town of Vienna to be considered for the Silver Level of the Bicycle Friendly Communities Program through the League of American Bicyclists.

5.Promote a healthier lifestyle, advocate a cleaner, more environmentally-friendly community, support and guide businesses in providing alternative modes of transportation.
