Uniform Bike Rack Application for Town of Vienna Businesses
"Encourage business to provide accessible and secure racks for parking bicycles on site"

Inverted "U Bike Rack
A simple, quick, low-cost, and hassle-free bike rack application process for Town of Vienna businesses which will enable business owners to concentrate their time in running their businesses instead of worrying about completing long forms, sitting in meetings, and accruing cost related to the application. A “streamlined” bike application and approval process is a win-win situation for the Town of Vienna, its citizens and Town of Vienna businesses.
I. Objective
To streamline the Inverted “U” Bike Rack application and approval process for Town of Vienna businesses.
II. Goals
- To provide a simple, low-cost and hassle-free bike rack application and approval process for Town of Vienna businesses.
- To ensure that bike racks are installed in locations with adequate clearance to make them safe and functional.
- To help Town of Vienna businesses maximize parking spaces by providing secure, fully functional, installed-to-specification bike racks for use of Town of Vienna residents as well as clientele and visitors of the Town of Vienna.
- To provide Town of Vienna residents and their families with an added benefit, a healthier, environmentally-friendly, low-cost method of getting around, visiting, and conducting business in the Town of Vienna.
III. Procedures
- A Town of Vienna business can contact the Vienna BAC to request a Uniform Bike Rack Application form for Inverted “U” Bike Racks or click on the link below to download and print.
- If you do not have a copy of the site plan, check with your landlord for a copy of the development site plan. If your landlord does not have a copy, check with Planning and Zoning for one on-file. If there is none on-file, Planning and Zoning will decide what is needed.
- Town of Vienna business submits completed application with all the necessary documentation to the Vienna BAC. It will be turned in for review and approval to the Planning and Zoning Department.
- If Planning and Zoning staff denies or Town of Vienna business wants other kinds of racks, then they can formally request the BAR process.
- Vienna BAC and Business Liaison Committee will help in publicizing the benefits of the bike racks, streamlined process and provide sample applications, guidance, and success stories on the web site. Vienna BAC can also help Town of Vienna businesses in deciding the placement of racks and what their other options are available for them.
